Peoria, IL – October 22, 2025 — American Print & Supply (APAS), a leader in advanced DTF printing systems and white-glove workflow support, proudly announces the launch of The Sentinel, a first-of-its-kind vision-based laser cutter engineered to eliminate one of the biggest bottlenecks in DTF production — cutting.

“When we talk about the frontiers of DTF, we’ve perfected printing and pressing,” said Rob Super, CEO and Founder of American Print & Supply. “But cutting has always been the overlooked frontier. If a printer like the Kraken can output 650 square feet an hour, there’s no way you can keep up with a pair of scissors. That’s why we built The Sentinel. The goal is to finally bring true automation and intelligence to the cutting stage.”
Cutting Intelligence Meets Continuous Workflow

The Sentinel is a completely vision-based laser cutting system designed specifically for DTF transfers. Its overhead camera scans printed rolls in real time. No DXF or CAD overlay files needed, creating a complex workflow and change for issues between the file setup and cutting. The Sentinel maps each cut path automatically with its vision-based system.

For APAS machine users and other decorators using Gangify™, the gang sheet builder automatically generates the visual marks needed for the Sentinel’s camera system. Operators can simply load artwork through Gangify, print the gang sheets, feed the rolls, press start, and let the Sentinel handle the rest.

Built with dual servo-driven laser bridges and a 64-inch cutting bed. The Sentinel handles two 32-inch rolls simultaneously to match the throughput of APAS’s flagship printers, like the Kraken. Its servo rack drive replaces traditional belt-driven systems for higher precision, speed, and durability.

The Sentinel delivers an average cycle time under 3 seconds per transfer (tested at 750+ per hour with room to scale), ensuring it can outpace even the fastest DTF printers. With an integrated exit conveyor, operators can collect and press transfers while new cuts continue automatically.

Smart. Safe. Scalable.

The Sentinel features a fully enclosed system with tinted viewing panels, ventilation, and interlock shutoffs for safety. Its auto-tensioned dual-roll feeder and integrated conveyor create a true end-to-end production loop, maximizing efficiency while minimizing manual handling. A perf-cut mode allows decorators and wholesale transfer providers to deliver roll-based products that are already pre-separated and press-ready.
“The Sentinel cuts as intelligently as our printers print,” added Super. “No special files, no downtime—just precision, safety, and simplicity.”

Key Advantages
● Vision-Based Recognition – No CAD or DXF file management required
● Dual 32″ Roll Capacity – Two rolls side-by-side for high-volume throughput
● Dual Servo-Driven Lasers – Real-time path optimization and precision cutting
● Exit Conveyor – Continuous operation without operator delay
● Perf-Cut Mode – Perfect for roll-based delivery and pre-separated transfers
● White-Glove Integration – Installed, trained, and optimized by APAS professionals
Built for Decorators Who Want More

The Sentinel integrates seamlessly with APAS’s full lineup of industry-leading DTF systems. All the way from the Kraken, Hydra, UFO, down to the Son of a Gladiator, creating a unified ecosystem that helps decorators scale their business faster with less friction.

It also works with other DTF systems. But once users experience the level of support, service, and expertise that APAS provides, many may be ready to upgrade to a complete APAS workflow.
The Sentinel will make its public debut October 22–24, 2025 at PRINTING United Expo in Orlando, FL inside the Apparel Zone (Booth #686). Attendees can experience live cutting demonstrations and learn how APAS continues to push DTF production forward.
